In the case of major flood events, upstream of the inner-city bridge in Theuern, there are outcrops of the Vils river. To improve the hydraulic situation, the construction of a new bridge and other flood protection measures (removal of foreland, walls, dikes, pumping station, etc.) are planned to protect the village from a 100-year flood event.
