07.07.2021 | BIM wage-hour model in the Kramertunnel project

EDR GmbH, as part of the engineering consortium B23 Kramertunnel, has been commissioned with the site management and construction supervision for the relocation of the B23 west of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the construction of the Kramer Tunnel.

To support billing and to control the wage-hour model, EDR has examined how the BIM methods for tunneling can be profitably used in the context of construction. In order to support and digitize the conventional billing of the LV titles for excavation and securing, the following points were decided upon.

1.    Creation, coordination and use of digital progress reports for shared use by the contractor and construction supervision incl. evaluation.

2.    Creation of parameterized profiles for linking with the data (parameters) of the progress reports and monthly creation of a 3D model with the help of the profiles.

3.    Linking of the 3D model with the billing program and monthly evaluation of the quantity records to be billed. Determination of the wage hours to be billed and the associated time-related costs in the billing program (RIB iTWO 5D).

4.    "What-if analysis" for checking costs and calculated construction time in the event of deviation of the actual excavation class distribution from the predicted or construction contractually agreed values.

During the ongoing tunneling operation, it already became apparent that the measures in the sense of a digital construction site errors due to the subsequent digitalization of manually created progress reports and reduce the amount of work required to complete the project. The control of the quantity forwards rates and wage hour rates shows a very exact match with conventional accounting. With consistent and timely application of the BIM method can therefore also result in advantages in the context of invoicing.
