03.12.2018 I Opening of Western Bypass Starnberg
The Western Bypass Starnberg is officially open for traffic: The newly designed state road 2069 will reduce traffic within the district town. It is about 5.9 kilometres long, goes north-south, passes Starnberg on the west - from Waldkreisel to connection road Söcking-Perchting - and should save commuters about five minutes of driving time, for example from Tutzing to the A 96 near Gilching. The Western Bypass is, besides the planned construction of the B2 Tunnel, one of the central projects to reduce traffic within and around Starnberg. EDR GmbH is involved in both construction initiatives as project manager.
The official traffic opening ceremony of the Western Bypass took place on December 3rd, 2018 by the State Building Authority Weilheim. About 200 guests attended. Among them: Mr. Günther Eger, Head of Tunneling and Special Civil Engineering at EDR GmbH. In line with the ceremony, he cut the white-blue ribbon alongside Uwe Fritsch, Head of the State Building Authority Weilheim, Mayor Eva John, her predecessor Ferdinand Pfaffinger, District Administrator Karl Roth, former District Administrator Heinrich Frey and other representatives.
